Brooklyn

Once to cross to the Ross Island bridge into east Portland you are in Brooklyn. And once you cross the bridge you will see one of its oldest landmarks, the yellow Victorian house built in 1891’s by John Poulsen who owned the Poulsen-Inman Lumber Co on the east back of the Willamette. Interesting fact at one point and exact replica of the house was across the street, but was torn down in the 50’s. This neighborhood is also known for the 1920’s Aladdin Theater and the Ross Island Sand & Gravel Co.

Like many neighborhoods on the east side of the Willamette this Brooklyn has done a turnaround from 20 years ago. Home style features, craftsman style bungalows, English architecture, PDX four sq and a plethora of other styles.
