Lair Hill

Lair Hill was once called South Portland Historic District due to it rich culture and history for having some of the oldest homes in Portland. It was later renamed to Lair Hill after once time  resident William Lair Hill who was a prominent  lawyer, editor, and author. Sadly most of the historic charm of Lair Hill was destroyed in the 1950’s by urban renewal project in the area. At that time neighbors and community members banded together and were able to save a small part of the once historic neighborhood from demo.
Today their hard work has payed off and the turn of the century Victorian homes are still standing and the community still embraces the continued efforts to save the older homes from tear down.

If your looking for a historic charming home with a great location to downtown  this neighborhood  is one for you, you also will be in walking distant of Lair Hill park .
-Lair Hill is in the northwestern part of South Portland with boundaries of I-405 to its north, barbur blvd south/west and naito parkway on its east.
