Terwilliger

This tiny neighborhood was named after  the old Terwilliger Park subdivision, that became a popular residential neighborhood when the Oregon Electric Railway; an interurban railroad line that linked Portland to Eugene, created the Terwilliger station.  With the rail line long closed, in the mid 1950’s this neighborhood was drastically changed  with the construction of the Interstate 5 freeway, that connected Washington, Oregon and California.

Today this area features old larger homes and pockets of new construction. – Terwilliger boundary lines are south of the Corbett neighborhood between sw barbur blvd and sw macadam ave and straddling Terwilliger Boulevard.
